Dai Due
By Henry Long
It has been more than a decade since Dai Due transitioned from a butcher shoppe and supper club to a full blown seated restaurant. Back then they were intensely focused on local sourcing. That still holds true today, even as quiet Manor road has warped into an artery of trendy foods.
There is a Michelin green star on the door now. It signifies to every tourist this is a spot worth visiting. But Dai Due, despite its acclaim, is a spot for locals. The burger comes from right down the road. The quail are raised within earshot. You can get to their burrata supplier quicker than you can get to Cedar Park in rush hour.
Stopping in for dinner is consistently satisfying, reservation not needed. It’s like popping into your neighbor’s house for dinner, if your neighbor was an award winning chef growing entire menus in their backyard.
