FoodHeads
By Noelle Wright
In a world where our first instinct is to bury our faces in our phones rather than interact with a stranger, the neighborhood sandwich shop, FoodHeads, breeds quite the opposite experience.
What started as a small unassuming catering business has now blossomed into a defining Austin restaurant. The quaint and welcoming energy of this converted home brings in people from every corner of the city. From college students at the nearby university, to neighbors who have lived in the area for decades. At FoodHeads, you are bound to see a friendly face when you step onto their porch.
Known for their sandwiches, soups and iced teas, FoodHeads embodies the phrase “made with love.” This family owned business begins everyday far before the doors open to the public. Their house brisket starts early in the morning, right out back, and their collection of baked goods, all made in house, bake as the sun rises.
Whether you're looking for a classic Rueben or something more unique, like their chicken and eggplant sandwich, this menu has a little something for everyone. Stop by on a nice sunny day in Austin, you may see a line out the door but don’t be swayed. Grab your favorite flavor of tea, meet a neighbor and enjoy a spot on their outdoor patio. It's worth the wait.
