Hopfields

Hopfields

Long gone are the days of topping best-of lists and word of mouth mania. Nearly 15 years after Hopfields opened, the French gastropub has matured from trendy young upstart to established neighborhood favorite.

The front half of Hopfields is a locals only comfort pub where patrons have access to a broad spectrum of craft brews and a substantial wine list (the Napa cab is a standout). In the back, dim lights illuminate a menu of French classics. Ratatouille, steak tartare, Pascal burger and escargot feel like old friends on the page. While I always recommend the moules frites, every dish is satisfying here. As long as you order extra crostini.
